Surrey going well!
Stokes; never out in a million years, decision even managed to upset the Lord's crowd, which takes some doing; can't wait to see what Smith and Starc get from the crowd on Tuesday If I were an England bowler and Starc happens to bat, I might be trying to run him out a few times
Buttlerfingers being 'rested' from the remaining three games; Bairstow in...

Great great day for cricket yesterday. We win the ODI to keep the series alive, and Haddin retires.
If Carlsberg did days of cricket etc....
Only saw a few minutes glimpse of yesterday, but looked like The Rash was getting it to fizz, nice.
Pretty glad I was not on line, as between innings I was going to give Taylor a carting - felt that he was batting for himself (to get the century) and really should have tried to accelerate when at 60 odd, even if it cost him his wicket. But, looks like the effort was well judged after the Aussie innings, as it meant our middle overs were simply a lull in scoring rate, whereas theirs ended their chase. And that was down to Taylor sticking around and busily getting his 1's and 2's. I would have looked a right arse....;-)

Personally, I'm glad Taylor listened to my sage advice and 'took 1 and went on' :D I think some of the performances in ODIs in recent years have led everyone to expect scores of 340+ and not every pitch is a 340 pitch. The fact that 150 isn't a nailed-on winning score in T20, but you don't see many 'score 375 and lose' games of 50 over cricket, is a nice illustration that someone ought to set a platform/bat through. That's just like the good old days, the difference being that the hitters can play T20 at the other end. Thus you get 150 off 30 overs at 5 an over and a T20-esque 150+ off the 20 overs from the other end.
Also, to revisit what almost everyone on the planet Cricket agrees, day-night games in September?

5 for 18 for Sidey!
This championship would be nicely topped off is Gale goes onto score a ton after being prevented from lifting the championship trophy last year.
The leadership from him and Gillespie has been outstanding - 3 defeats 61 games since they started working together and a current unbeaten run of 27 games....

Gale out for 98. Looks like Yorkshire are going hell for leather to make Middlesex bat first thing in the morning again.

As a Durham fan say (through gritted teeth) well done to Yorkshire, the county of my father's birth. It is my one regret in life that he died at the yoing age of 47 back in 1977, so I never had the chance to take him to Chester-le-Street to watch our two teams go head to head.
