We'll see about Starc. I'd be surprised if they risk him even if fit. I'd say he'd definitely play if I were Aussie captain, too...

... of course he may be selected and take 16-78. Or his ankle may let go completely and we sore 900-4 against a 3.5 man attack.

Still predicting an England series win.

Haddin might be out for the next test as well. Jim Maxwell very despondent about Australia's lack of talent in depth in their batting resources over the past 3 or 4 days.

Siddle is nothing to worry about too much if he does come in for Starc - he's a decent, but not special bowler - Starc is much more dangerous. Siddle is probably about the same in terms of talent and pace as Tim Bresnan (without Bresnan's ability with the bat) - decent, but never going to run through a side.

Don't know enough about either of the Marshes at the moment - Jim Maxwell reckons they're both half decent batting, but worried about the bowling...

Rain on the final day of an Ashes test that England won in four days provides final and irrevocable proof of three things:

God exists
God is English
God has a sense of humour

Watson dropped.

Crikey.

Interesting comment from Steve Waugh, who thought the teams 'had the wrong caps on' at Cardiff.

Let's hope this continues, I remember us winning a first test in the Aussie dominant 90's, getting all hopeful then we got slaughtered for the rest of the series. They were just caught cold and undercooked in that first test....

Weather forecast looking a little better, so it looks as if we should get most of the 5 days. 2-0 would be glorious, if I had have dreamt that a week ago I would have woken up and apologised...

Haddin out, "personal reasons", anyone know what they are, or is that a euphemism for dropped as the aussies don't want to let on they got it wrong. I think those 2 changes improve them. Siddle would too.

Harrisi s their big miss, I saw him bowl at Durham last time, we could hardly get him off the square.
