57.5 Degrees of Pain

Interesting article on the BBC about the Hundred. Sounds like a good way to create further division in the game between the haves and have nots |

The note from Lancashire to county members (nominally at least, members are the owners of 15 of the 18 counties) was quite interesting. Potential investors are to be told clearly that the franchise is for 10 years for a 27 day window and that window will not be expanded. Investors won't be involved in any new deal. There has obviously been some very acrimonious discussion over the proceeds of any sale favouring the 8 host counties and the Lancashire Q&A didn't dispute the suggestion that there'd been talk of counties breaking away from the ECB, or of a deal which didn't involve the non-host counties. |

Yep - I’m about 10 miles south and it has started tipping it down

They’d been talking about it the other day on the radio about the sale of The Hundred teams, but there hadn’t been any articles put out on the news or anything that wasn’t behind a paywall, so interested to go and have a read.

Didn’t realise the T20 was on council tv. And they’re actually playing rather than rained off

Excellent - IO was watching on Sky, very happy to switch to BBC and give them less traffic

Looks like they got a spare keeper from the local pub team. Is he seriously an international sportsman?

We were at the Oval last night. That rain delay was a bit frustrating, it never really felt like it was much and the players were pretty frustrated. That keeper. Wow. His lack of athleticism defo cost them a couple of catches and his wicket was also I believe the result of him not being able to evade a good short ball. Rauf. What a bowler. That one over he bowled I think he beat the bat of 2 set batters every ball. Got Butler and had Jacks dropped by aforementioned athlete! There was one bizarre incident that really pissed me off. Livingstone was fielding right in front of us at fine leg, we were in row 2. He spat his (blue) chewing gum on the ground about a foot outside the rope. I called him out on it, he heard me, gave me a hand off and just left it there for the entire game. What a knob and what an example to show all the kids that were close at hand. Hope he has a shit WC! |
