Stats Q with a little current relevance.

Stuart Broad has the lowest average of any England batter with over 2500 test runs at 18.19.

Who has the 2nd lowest?

Lowest batting average of people who've scored lots of runs? That excludes the obvious Panesar, Tufnell, Devon Malcolm, Mullaly etc. Anderson has had ~250 innings for a single digit average, but not got to 2500 runs.

Moeen? Andrew Flintoff?

James Anderson (1312) is hunting down Mike Brearley's 1442 test runs, so not the answer here.

Although he did only have an average of 22.88.

Brearley didn't play enough tests to be anywhere near 2500 runs, I would think.

There's a debate to be had is he a spinning allrounder? A Spinner? (ave 35.66 which isn't terrible). Or a batter who bowls some spin?

Still he's got a better test average that Zack Crawley (28.26) whose average is also nearly surpassed by Chris Woakes (27.91)

Well. Still 28 isn't too bad for an opener/middle order/lower middle order/pinch hitter with 195 wickets.

If he plays all 5 tests, then there's a good chance he'll pass the 3000 test runs/200wickets club, which is a select group: stats.espncricinfo.com
