Might need to update some of these predictions with Cummins possibly out of the second test as a covid close contact.

Cummins definitely out. Steve Smith now captain. I'd love to see how much the odds of England Winning changed through the morning as it was increasingly clear that Cummins wouldn't be able to play.

If we'd won the toss I may have changed my prediction, but as long as the Aussies have something to bowl at, even Geoff Boycott's granny could apply pressure to a fragile England batting lineup

So one lucky wicket to a rancid leg-side long hop and two reviews thrown away on desperate shouts. Could it have gone any better? |

England, well Root, seems to have had the idea that the way not get beaten is to drag the game out for as long as possible from the first ball. Obviously this means Australia will score at least 350+ by tea on the second day and the game will be over by the end of the third.
