By replace, I think he means take a long-term spot in the team, Fozzy.... as opposed to directly replace. You can't replace Cook but you do have to replicate his runs from somewhere across the top 6. Likewise the wickets (for bowlers) I guess.

It is much easier to pick holes in another's technique than fix your own, doesn't mean they're wrong. The lesser players are often the better coaches as they have to think about it more and get the best out of their more limited talents.

Broad will still be playing in his 50s.

TV I would think, he's a bit more showy than cook and Amderson.

Blimey. Young people these days. Banging on about cheap Vanburn Holder replacements like they were a generational talent ;)

I do get the crap player don't tell me what to do. But crap player doesn't necessarily mean crap analyst.

Plus we are all club players putting in our 'expert' opinions.

There will always be someone to fill Andersons spot, we will always field an 11 but I'm with fozzy of course there is going to be a drop off in productivity for who ever does take his spot.

The replacement for Cook is a good one. Don't think I've done a blog on that one. We have definitely kissed alot of frogs, not sure we have found our Prince yet.

Nice post Wrig. Apart from the middle bit. I remember when I first noticed Broad (2006 T20 semi - I think the first game I can remember after The Unfortunate Event*) I was genuinely convinced he was going to break his own legs. That bowling action must have been very, very hard on the knees.

Broad (or should I say his Z list ex pop star girl friend) has recently put his £2.4 million Nottinghamshire house on the market.

It saddens me a little that I enjoy listening to Broad more than I do Jack 'nicest man in cricket' Leach, but I do. Sorry.

Jack Leach is pretty much living the dream and looks/sounds as bewildered as we would be to make the jump. He's not naturally engaging in the way that some are, but he's son in law material.
