Well, I am always the optimist. I might still be right.

Seeing a lot of chatter about if Anderson gets 600 tomorrow he won't go to uae to play India.
Which I find surprising as his record in UAE is quite good.

Resting him might make some sense.

Well he's unlikely to play any cricket between now and January (when the india tour starts)
So that's a 4month rest.
He's unlikely to play all 5 tests admittedly.
But then he's got 2 months before world test champs match (early Jun) which England may or may not play in.
Return India series starts end July.
So I'd say plenty of rest available.
Anyway the chatter was about finality. Because they're obsessed by age and pace.

Anderson will keep any thoughts of retirement to himself and those he trusts to keep their mouths shut. Any chatter about retirement is speculation in the absence of facts

I'm here for the specualtion int he absence of facts It'd be lunacy to drop Anderson. There's plenty of opportunity for the younger set, particularly considering the other formats, and I'm sorry but Curran the Hedgehog doesn't convince as a test bowler, he's a curiosity, a bit like Jonathon Trott getting wickets because everyone's amazed to see him turn his arm over.

For the record, Anderson's record in UAE:
22 wickets in 6 matches at 20.54
And for that matter, Stuart Broad: 20 wickets in 6 matches at 22.85.

This round of RGDW matches being washed out works fine for me.

(this is assuming that the tour is in the UAE, rather than india, which is the rumour I've heard, but it's not confirmed as far as I can tell).

Live text on BBC is saying that it will take four to five hours after rain stops for the ground to be playable - so I reckon today will be a total wash out, stranding Anderson on 599 (thanks to multiple dropped catches by his mates )
