So you’re getting the willies about losing 20 wickets in a day for 200 ish to lose by an innings.
I thought I was pessimistic.....;-)

I'm 99.9% certain that Notts would lose from that position

Over the years I've seen Essex clutch defeat from the jaws of victory too many times to ever feel confident.

Weather forecasts differ but an uninterrupted day’s play seems unlikely. Still think there’s scope for it going horribly Holgate.

From Cricinfo:
Somerset supporters may bemoan their bad luck with the weather and even a seeming unwillingness to play on behalf of the umpires. In truth, however, they are a side that has lost three games - Essex have lost just one - have no batsman averaging even as much as 32 and who allowed Hampshire to recover twice (once from 88 for 7 and once from 103 for 8) to lose their previous match just as the title appeared to be in their grasp. Few can dispute that Essex will be deserving champions.

Well, I will congratulate the Essex boys now. A fine season, with victory earned on a rock solid home form.
My boys fell a bit short, but their time will come. A trophy in the cabinet nonetheless - a rare thing for Somerset - means this has been a successful season. A top order batsman and possibly a bowler short, in my opinion.
