I almost posted that Jofra would make Smith a nervous wreck by the end of the series before the 2nd test, didn't expect it to happen so soon though ;-)

I reckon he will be ok. It will shake up the test more...he is the best batsman. If he can be hit, they all can.

I wonder if Cummins said ‘Sorry I bowled 10 bouncers in 11 balls at Jofra Skip.....’

Cummins should keep bowling bouncers at Archer, it will only make him more angry! :)

Amazing to think the Windies used to pitch up with an attack basically consisting of 4 Jeffrey’s and a token rarely used off spinner.

Mind boggling!

Misty eyed reminiscing blinds us to the woeful over rates and the constant interruptions for ‘bad light’, or ‘September’ as it was sometimes known.

Surely you can't have Lance Gibbs in mind, TRO? 309 Test wkts & economy rate of under 2 an over.

Dunno, Harper? Think they always felt token after the awesome battery of 4 quicks but were probably better than it seemed.

I’d imagine they got a quite a few wickets catching out batsmen who were just so relieved that the next few balls weren’t going to be 90mph +.

We had a proper West Indian quick at Essex back in the day - he could bat a bit too, but alas Norbert Philip WNDP™️

Having never faced a professional delivery, it always amazes me the pace that is reported for spin bowlers. 45-55mph seems pretty swift to me.

I did once dismiss c&b a Uni friend who went on to play for Leicestershire and was ultimately renowned for displaying his todger in the official Wisden photo which was published. Though that was with a tennis ball, and he was a specialist bowler.
