Enjoyed that clip. Indeed it was Hilditch, surprised they didn;t put an entire slip cordon down on the fine leg boundary....

Yes, but back to England, as much as I love Gower, look how many time he got out having a swish, it is often the case a batsman gets out to his most productive shots

It's the last test in a home series against not very good opposition when we're already 3-0 up, when we have a couple of players injured or out of form and so need to change the team anyway. It seems like the perfect time to introduce new players. They've had a single innings, when none of the bowlers has had much luck. I don't really understand why all the criticism.
On the Aussie duds, Brendon Julian finished his test career with a batting average under 20 and a bowling average around 40, in spite of some great performances in the Sheffield Shield. Their whole team in the mid-eighties Bobby Simpson era was pretty poor. Trevor Chappell?

I think the criticism of the selection is justified, if Aus win, get soem confidence, pick a settle team, who know what will happen. If we'd have picked 1 of Finn or Tremlett, we could have pegged them back and won.
it's not Kerrigan's fault per se, but he is a selectorial mistake.

You do have to question selection of 2 new bowlers in an Ashes test. Bit different if bring them in against Bangladesh or something or any test with a lower profile. The press do sometimes over egg things though -eulogising about Michael Carberry's ton the other day -against Bangladesh A, no doubt made with a stick of rhubarb.

Yes, morning Zorbers wonder how the pigeons are doing at the Oval? Do they eat Ciabatta rather than the Warburton's tripe they get at Old Trafford?
