I realise there are no ‘rules’ and we can go. I should have said, whether we should go.

We had planned plenty indoor kids attractions/staying in hotels etc, it’s just not the right thing to do.

I’ve cancelled everything this afternoon, it’s just not right to knowingly have it and go to these busy places

Husband only really tested as we are going via my parents- one of whom is extremely vulnerable 🫣 I never usually do as we are surrounded by kids germs anyway

I'm "lucky" that both times I've had it I've picked it up on the way home from abroad rather than on the way out. The first time was at a conference and I felt rough the morning of the flight home but flew home and tested when I got back, the second time (current bout) I'm fairly sure we picked it up on the flight back. I haven't actually tested, but OH did and was positive and on the basis we have similar symptoms which came on at the same time, I don't think a test would tell me much I don't already know.

I think I would do the same Gymfreak. But it is a difficult decision and I hope you don't lose out too badly financially

I missed out on my middle of three nephew's wedding in June because of my positive status. I needed to get home from Milan and hadn't tested, but I couldn't have even gone to the church just for the ceremony and stood at the back alone before clearing off

I think you made the right decision, difficult as it must have been

If I was in the situation I would like to think I would do the same, but it would be so hard

It is hard. I’m gutted. If it had been an abroad holiday it would have been even harder and I’m not convinced I would have made the same decision 😳 Been looking forward to it for months. But it is what it is. Can all be done another time.

Gymfreak - thank you for being so responsible. You never know who you might infect and what the consequences might be for them. I wish everyone was as selfless.

Gymfreak, I'd find it a tough decision, but would do the same. OH probably not so much. Some of the advice to go to work as normal is completely self-defeating (you get one person in for a day and possibly lose more days to people they infect, and of course customers).

I feel a bit better about it all today, it’s done. Moving on.

What’s so weird in all this is that I have had all the symptoms of Covid for a week, my husband is positive and I am continually negative.
