How horrible TMW.
Looking for a bit of advice. Marigold has a snotty cold. Last night she started with what I would call a niggly cough. Both girls tend to get niggly coughs with their colds. SweetPea is anxious and thinks we should all self isolate immediately. I'm more inclined to think it's part of her cold. As providence would have it, we have been picked as part of the ONS survey so have a bod coming tomorrow to test us all.
What to do? - Carry on as normal (Marigold to school, SweetPea to college. Mr WA works from home anyway, I've patient visits Weds, Thurs and Fri) - Put a halt to life until we've had the test results back. I'm not sure what the timings will be.

WA, I'd play safe, not because you suspect Covid, but for general perception and to stop the spread of *any* coronavirus (remember, the common cold is a coronavirus). First week back at school, a few in Turtle's class had bad colds. Those with temps isolated and were tested (negative). On the Friday, headteacher sent email requesting any illness stay at home because so many were affected. Following Monday, Turtle comes home with snotty cold, very very short lived temp (less than an hour), no cough. I kept her at home for 2 days because a) headteacher request and b) we really don't want the school closed or more cold-ridden kids. Thurs she went in, now with a cough, but very intermittent and not a Covid cough. Teachers were fine with her back in. I didn't get her tested because a) she didn't actually fit the criteria and b) any kids with the same cold who were tested were all negative and she hadn't had contact with anyone else (and I hadn't been at work for the preceding 14 days). Long story short, keep off school but don't rush to test

Thx both. She's very resistant to staying at home, but I'll see how she is tomorrow.
The school have been pretty sensible so far, but I don't want to put others at risk

Went to a very wee back-street pub today. Was a little concerned that would be too 'relaxed'.
How wrong I was. Barmaid was masked. She insisted I hand-santised, masked and provided details before sitting down. Table service only. Contactless payment. Flexi glass. Mask on when going to the loo or leaving

OMG TMW that is horrific and kids now cannot be reproached the risk of violence esp from a gang of out of control and maybe drug/alcohol fuelled youths is frightening.
A similar group of kids have been hanging round them shops’ middle of an estate and managed to set fire to the old pub which is currently closed. It’s close to a care home. The kids were reported as causing anti social behaviour prior to this and no police turned up. Apparently as fire engine were in attendance still no police.
I often run past there and have seen groups of kids thankfully the younger ones but they can also be intimidating.
Run free re the graphic. It is very true. I have a small bubble of people I see regularly it’s now dropped by 2 couples (only meet up once a month) but we all know who else we’re in contact with & don’t see anyone often. But now kids are back at school that bubble is a huge unknown esp as they have teenagers.
I posted the other day about the school link a friend and her husband are both teachers the older kids go to one school across 3 year groups and the little one is at primary. That’s 4 schools living in one house.
