If it's any consolation Maz I once only got one zone out of running a marathon.

Cerrertonia
183 (I think) zones explored in my run through the Outer Hebrides. Quite a lot of them not previously explored too.

How were the midges Cerrertonia? I was on Harris at this time of year 4 years ago and they were the worst I can remember.
Growing up in the west of Scotland that is quite a claim!

I encountered a small number one day (on Harris, when the sun was out), but it's fairly easy to out-run them. Mostly it was just too windy for midges. No clegs or anything else bitey either.
I ran for a week carrying a bottle of smidge, a tick removal tool and a midge net for my head. Ended up not using any of them

Excellent C. Hope you've now named all those new zones?!

Here I am, visiting the Far North of the Scottish mainland to pick up a view secluded zones, and I find that Old Croc has been cycling up Dixonfield and Nessie was running in Scarfskerry. Scarfskerry! Nobody knows where Skarfskerry is!

I was there pre-Fetch and pre-GPS.
In 2000, I ran a relay leg of the Round the Island run from Melvich to Mey as near the coast as possible - plus a presentation at the lighthouse on Dunnet Head.
