Haile should be the man to beat. I may start before he finishes???? Did my last 10 miler on friday but worryingly tweaked my knee by slipping on a conker. I may just have to rest now for the week instead of my planned 2x5 milers.

Can anyone remind me of any Fetch meets before the start? I think its by the baggage buses by Claremont Rd but I'd appreciate a reminder if possible? Hope all your training is going well.....and hope to meet a few of you on the day. Anyone got an accurate forecast for next sunday? I've been caught out by bright sunshine for the last 2!!!

There's a list of the elite athletes on the GNR site: greatrun.org Martin Lel and Andrew Lemoncello are two names I recognise along with local fellow Ian Hudpith. i was wondering if Mr Foster would like to set up a course record breaker for it's 30th year.

In the women's Mara Yamauchi and Irina Mititenko look to be the top rated runners.

Watch out for a girl called Stacey Rogers. She's not likely to be challenging any of the winners, but she ran her first ever half marathon at the GNR last year in 1:37 and then ran an even faster pace at the Edinburgh marathon this year to get a GFA qualification for London - and she's not a full time athlete.

Of course, someone might need to bring a camera. I only have a bulky one for taking pictures of the boy, and Mrs DeeGee won't look on me too kindly for leaving her camera in a baggage bus.
