What was that one with lots of local references with a bloke from the posh bit of Wirral and a pretentious mum (Meols or Hoylake or similar) dating a common scouse girl??? (That's the premise, not my view). Was on national TV as i wasn't in the northwest then. *looks hopefully at Swittle as he may get local references* |

No to Steptoe. Even though it's Galton & Simpson, I just never found it that great. There's just something too off about Albert Steptoe. I guess very much of it's time. Who's even heard of a rag and bone man today?! Red Dwarf (at it's peak around series 5-6) and Spaced. Two clasics. The thick of it would be a winner. If it weren't now surplanted by Trump and Brexit farce in real life. Of modern times, Outnumbered is the one that makes me laugh the most. Especially when the kids were young. Another Andy Hamilton/Guy Jenkins (drop the dead donkey). |

'Watching'. I don't recall it, leaguefreak, although, living in Liverpool, I take more interest in TV based there. en.wikipedia.org |

Yes, I see, fozzy. 'Steptoe' has achieved almost mythological status: the sociologists are over it like a rash. The strength lies in the scriptwriters, although Harry H. did a great line in pathos imo. Never 'got' 'Red Dwarf' - but I don't get ' Hitchhuiker's guide...' either. Quality of acting in 'Outnumbered' rises to exceptional much of the time. |

'Clarence'. Neat refs to cross-eyed lion and to Clement & La Frenais in Barker choosing the name Bob Ferris as his pseudonym as writer. en.wikipedia.org |
