Thanks baggins, good to meet you. Second Ashton Court parkrun this Saturday at 0850 for 0900 start. Can we improve on 120 runners? Will 'that hill' be easier in the rain (yes, there's a 60% chance that our weather luck has run out)? Hope to see a good Fetch turnout. Volunteers for future weeks would be very welcome. Looks like we'll have to wait for another week to test the 'rain theory'. Forecast for tomorrow is now sunny with very good visibility. So come and enjoy the magnificent views from the top of Ashton Court.

Just back from the second Ashton Court parkrun (my first). What a great event! The course isn't the quickest in the world, as there's a fair bit of uphill in the first half, but I want to say a huge thank you to beachrunner and his colleagues for getting this planned, organised and live. I didn't have time to see the views at the top, because I was too busy greeting runners I know who were starting the "back" run while I was toiling up the "out" leg and then, better for me, runners finishing the "out" leg as I started on the "back" run. A great little outing - long may it run!

Indeed - long live AC parkrun! I had a great time today and was happy to see that everyone else seemed to be enjoying themselves. Can't comment on 'that' hill though since I got to stay safely at the bottom of the course in my yellow marshal binbag Hope everything goes smoothly with processing the results, beachrunner. Looking forward to next week already! |

yay, another great run thanks beachrunner and co. Much faster field today it seemed, I beat last week by 35secs but came further down the results! Back to uni in Bath next week so not sure it's very economical to drive an hour to parkrun perhaps I'll get up mega early and cycle....perhaps...

Good to see you all. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for the kind comments. Isabel, we don't want to lose you at Ashton Court, but Bath probably needs a parkrun too;-)

lol, very true beachrunner though I'm only in bath for another couple of months, perhaps not quite long enough to set up a whole parkrun never fear tho - back in Brizzle for an interview today so will be there tomorrow yay |

did I kill the thread?! very quiet on here! turns out yes the hill is easier in the rain, squeezed another few seconds off my time although the poor scouts probably appreciated the rain a bit less than I did! |

Shhh... Parkrunners sleep in dark corners during the week, don't start stirring until Friday night and come to life only on Saturday mornings
