Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

Library doesn't have it, except as an audiobook.

I see there's a character in it (the main character?) called Ged; so I may have read it - or one of them - as the name rings a bell. Was there one called Ged of the Unicorn, - or alternatively, Get off the Unicorn?

I've just checked. Geddy Lee (of Rush) has no connection. Which is a relief.

I can send you my copy when I’ve finished rereading it Columba if you don’t mind sending it back after? I think c9 might enjoy it but I’ll leave it till she’s c10 or c11

"Invisible airwaves crackle with life, bright antennae bristle with the energy" There you go Greppers - a lot better than beret wearing euphonium tooting.

(Assuming one toots a euphonium)

It was a melodia, dear boy. And a fez, which never struck me as being 'traditionally Israeli' but what do I know?

Looking at the dispossessed it seems to be a standalone, and plenty of political theory books written about that book available too!

I know you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, but has AWOE ever had a cover that was even half-good?

I shall pop over to Goodreads and find out.

I'm worried that as I love this book so much I'm going to take umbrage if it gets unfavourable responses ;-) I might also re-read The Dispossessed as it seems to be one of her most famous adult books and I didn't remember much about it.
