Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

Mum read The Power and liked it.

I did read White Teeth and felt I ought to like it but I can't remember if I did or not, which might tell you all you need to know...

The Power was good and I also enjoyed Americanah when I had that as an audiobook a while back.

Ah you can't beat a bit of Holly Johnson :)

I wasn't a fan of On Beauty either. Americanah is on my too read list so I'm glad people have enjoyed it :)

Has anyone read Flight Behaviour by Barbara Kingsolver? I really enjoyed it but the reviews on Goodreads are less than complimentary!

Is that the one about butterflies, Red Ant?

If it is, it's definitely readable but it had some big flaws as well.

Currently reading an advance copy of the new Kit de Waal - her first book My Name is Leon did very well though I haven't read it. I think it won the Costa Debut Novel.

Am enjoying this one very much.

I’ve always meant to read her, but never quite got round to it. She’s got a very interesting back story
