Cutbacks, dear. And the fact Bedford Council are bleeding us (and the club) dry to use their "Olympic-surfaced" track. Woo-hoo.

Other clubs are still managing to give decent mementos. And given that a large amount of people running the Bedford Half are not Harriers, why should they be subsidizing the Harriers training grounds (which I thought members had to pay through the nose to use anyway on top of regular membership fees???)

Cut backs, or profiteering?

I would personally rather have nothing at all that a piece of polyester crap that's going straight in the bin.

I was only being half-serious. The track fees aren't cheap, and we actually pay them from our own pockets. I think in all honesty membership is down slightly, but I have no idea why race mementos are rubbish lately. I still enjoy my green Oakley hoodie, but am pretty ambivalent about mementoes these days (albeit said from a position of having a comfortably sizeable haul of medals which I'm not that bothered about growing at any great rate).

Too windy and hilly and meh today to get close to a pb today. Would have preferred a banana at the end instead of the bag tbh. Or at least give me the water before the memento. Enjoyed it otherwise though. That's 12 half marathons in 2012 done and dusted.

At least it's not pink. I wonder if the club's not had complaints from the stadium about Harriers using their standard issue sports bags to bash the barrier open, and with duffel bags, you'll actually have to pay...
