I've got Tunic on my PS watch list - it looks charming, but I've too many games on my list to pay for it right now...

Another recommendation, not of a game, but of a payment model, was XBox Game Pass, 7.99 a month and can download to PC (but can only play while having the subscription). But access to loads of up to date games? :-) G

Return of the Obra Dinn is a very clever and well-made game but I found it really psychologically creepy and quite an intense, uncomfortable experience. Definitely worth playing but it still gives me the shivers sometimes.

I've been invited to join an F1 2022 driving night with a former colleague who is a big gamer. 8 of us I think, for about 90 mins. A few of them are quite serious with full driving set up, wheel, pedals, special seat, and VR. But I believe some are just fun players too. I guess I'll find out tonight! :-) G

Have fun geeking out :-) My boy plays the F1 game occasionally, and will race friends online. Too repetitive for my liking.

Repetitive, and how! The interest is in 1. getting it right and repeatedly getting it right and 2. gradually making it more realistic (turning off the aids, turning on various realism factors, having to do pit stops, adjust the car set up etc.)

Hoping my not-really-a-gaming-laptop and my absolutely-woefully-slow broadband can cope! :-) G

Ooh, and I is real gamer now - the audio / chat is all through Discord. Yes, the service that brought you leaked US defence documents! :-) G

By the way, quick "isn't modern tech great" comment. I was being cheap, I didn't want to pay £50 for F1 2022 (why is 2023 version only £23?) on PC / Steam. So I had a search for eBay second hand or something and I found a key for "Origin" for £18. Was a bit worried it was either a bogus key or that it wouldn't work on my laptop or that it would but then wouldn't connect with others.

But despite EA Play (new name for Origin, EA's walled garden version of Steam?) being separate, it all worked and connects fine with others on Steam on PC, and even with XBox, Playstation players. Amazing. And I've saved £32! :-) G

Gone are the days of lugging my 486DX2 to a friend's house for a LAN party playing F1GP.

We carried CRT monitors in those days so it was no joke - several trips!

...and now it's available as a flash game retrogames.cz

Doubt I'd be any good.
