I have a collection like that from Baxters Running Festival which is my "every year" event since 2011 :)

I have ordered the WHW t-shirt and buff. Figured I'm never likely to get a goblet but if I'm going to do the distance I want something to show for it! 😉

I've just had a look and the buffs are a nice colour. I'm going to order one.

3 or 4 buffs, 3 hoodies (grey 95 miles in 35 hours, blue thin one and old blue with bearded man running cartoon), the fleece and the long sleeve zip base. And the coasters and postcards. Oh and one of those crystal goblet things too, obv. Must take a merch pic too. Good shout Mrs S!

I was just going to plod out 1/3 of our relay team of 3 doing 95 miles over 10 days. But I might think a bit more closely from Fri night on about "where" we are on the Way as we go? :-) G

I remember you wearing the grey hoody G. I didn't post non wearable stuff but we've also got the coasters and 4 goblets between us.

I thought I might take some jelly babies with me for when I reach Jelly Baby Hill (60 ish miles in). I've got my map out and it's nice for reminiscing.

Ordered a t-shirt. I have acquired 3 buffs recently and only have one neck (GVRAT, Centurion, and a freebie from Challenge Running when I bought a couple of t-shirts from them) so decided I had enough to be going on with :)

One can never have too many buffs Badger! :-O I lose mine (have lost at least 2 WHW - the red and the dark green 2012 and ? :-( ) However, Fetch buffs, other races, really got plenty too! :-) G

My number one buff is the Fetch anniversary one. I am not sure where my old school black Fetch buff is but think the OH has nabbed both of ours (again).

Covid has really scuppered my 3 year plan, NDW50 this year, Highland Fling next if I get lucky, WHW some day if I survive the Fling.

My red whw buff is from 2010 G.

I hope you get to do the Fling Badger, it's such a fine race. It's hard to get in now though, with the ballot.

I haven't done the Fling for 5 years. I wanted to do different races. I was meant to do the John Muir ultra but covid19 stopped that.

Where do you order the T-shirt and buff? (I didn't see it when I entered).

About This Thread

Maintained by
Following the cancellation of the 2020 Altra West Highland Way Race, we have decided to organise a virtual West Highland Way Race instead. The virtual events start at midnight on Thursday 11 June and allows people to run or walk 95 miles over 9.5 days, either individually, as a semi competitive 3 person relay team, or as a multi person fun relay team.

All entrants need to follow government guidelines for the period of the virtual race. Like all virtual events it relies on honesty from everyone, just getting out there, logging some miles as accurately as possible, and having some fun too.

Unlike the traditional event we are actively discouraging anyone from covering the 95 miles in one go. Instead you can run segments of your choosing, reaching the 3 checkpoint cutoffs, and then uploading your details to an online platform run by SI Entries.

Checkpoints are at:

Inversnaid - Leg 1: 36 miles to be completed by midnight on Monday 15 June;

Victoria Bridge, by Loch Tulla - Leg 2: a further 27 miles to be completed by midnight on Thursday 18 June;

Fort William - Leg 3: a further 32 miles giving a total of 95 miles to be completed by midday on Sunday 21 June.

Each runner or team needs to decide on a strategy according to their own ambitions and available time. Run and enjoy long single stages or break it down in to smaller (and possibly faster) stages - your imagination is your only guide.

On the evening of Saturday 20 June from 7pm to 8.30pm there will also be a show hosted by John Kynaston and Ian Beattie on the race Facebook page. They will chat with previous race winners and characters from earlier West Highland Way Races, along with a quiz.

More details, including a link to the entry page on SI Entries, can be found on the race website westhighlandwayrace.org
