Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

That's a good tip!
Especially for when inhaling using my defective, clearly stupidly narrow left nostril :-)

It may not be defective.

Our nostrils alternate through the day apparently with one being more “congested” than the other. Various possible reasons - it gives that nostril a rest, slows air through it, perhaps helping our sense of smell… Our nervous system apparently cycles round swelling the tissue in one nostril then the other over several hours.

My left nostril was relatively more stuffy tonight.

I was joking about it being defective :-)

But, yes, the book I’m reading talks about the kind of thing you mention, Pen.
Who’d have thought nostrils were so complex!

Thanks Bint, great posts. It matters not whether you saw mine hoping you'd come along and defend Day 8, you did anyway. blackheart

I do feel the 30 days sequences are carefully structured, don't think Ms Mishler takes them lightly, and it's worth following what she's trying to communicate. What have we got to lose?

And thanks Pen too - deffo always one nostril feels more bunged up than the other. Fascinating. Our seemingly symmetrical bodies just aren't.

I’m putting my yoga journey on hold. My left arm/elbow has been niggly since day 1 and needs time to get better. Also I am without heat and doing yoga in the cold is not enjoyable.

Sorry to hear that HP. But more importantly I hope you get heating soon!
As I said yesterday I got on really well with Day 8. I have been practicing nostril breathing and breathing into the belly for quite a while now.
Indeed yesterday's session would have been perfect if it hadn't been for a needy teen who is totally oblivious to other people's needs.

Good luck with heating and also with your elbow HP.
Enjoyed day 8 here. Would've happily just slept after the end of it. Instead I feel super mellow for facing the day.

Yes definitely prioritise heating and recovery HP!

Day 8 wasn’t as bad as I’d feared. I get on ok with alternate nostril breathing (and that almost enabled me not to get too wound up by her wittering!) and there was enough movement in the rest of it for me not to get to antsy.

I agree Sharkie, i find forcing myself to follow all of her 30day plans (other than day 30) rather than just picking and choosing the ones i think i’ll enjoy result in a lot more improvement generally over the course of the month as they complement and support each other in ways that I don’t appreciate from just looking at them. Like learning/working on and improving anything really - who’d’ve thunk it 🤔😜

I've done day 8 this morning. I'd read Bint's comment before I started and it was helpful. I found sitting cross-legged for a time much easier than I used to (I did use a cushion). The alt. nostril breathing went better than last time I tried. I think this is now the third time I've done it, so like everything, it clearly takes practice. I found if I really slowed the inhale down I coped on both sides. I enjoyed the more meditative pace and stillness too. It was definitely relaxing.

All done! xxx

This is possibly just for me, mine all mine.

I'm all signed up for Adriene's 30 Days of Yoga: 'Move'. There's already a thread that's survived two previous incarnations (I believe I started that, too, back end 2019) I expect most Fetchies will post on there, or perhaps on the 'The Yoga Every (well, some) Days Thread'. Or somewhere else entirely. Or not at all.

HOWEVER
I reserve the right not to bother with Adriene's Day 30 if it takes its usu...
