Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Def a good one to do for relaxing before bed, as long as you start after the nostril breathing bit! (unless you find that relaxing, I def don't!)

I found that so hard! Am really terrible at active relaxing and I was like a 5 year old in a classroom shuffling around! But I persevered. The stretchy bits were nice after my long run today.

As you say oatcake, am sure the intention is that it’s challenging in a different way. Certainly was for me.

Track for me this morning so haven't got round to Day 8 yet.

LAWKS -half an hour of sitting still! I'm going to be like Oatcake and Treacle - that famous double act :-) I'm fine with sitting cross legged for ages but I'm not fine with Just Breathing. Still - it will be a good challenge!

Hmmm! Sounds like some of last years - another one here who finds that sitting still and breathing is more challenging than a physically difficult session…

Day 7 done. I thought about doing day 8, but the heating isn't on at the moment and I was already chilled - didn't really fancy sitting still for half an hour. I'll do it in the morning :)

The heating's on here now. No excuse not to sit down and breathe for half an hour.

I'm going in....

Not my sort of yoga at all. My least favourite of the year and I won’t be repeating it. I skipped through all the breathing then did some of my own flows.

Ooh Meg, you sound rather cross! ;-)

I'm all for giving things a go, and perhaps not such a renegade after all, so I stayed with it and did as I was told, in spite of finding the alternate nostril breathing a bit sniffy. Or iffy. Or something, wanted to blow my nose anyway!

Couple of nice hip stretches and it's good to have an r&r day after all - the first seven days, especially the first six, have been quite full on.

Have realised I often sit cross legged on my desk chair which is where I am now in front of my Mac. I'm trying to warm my feet up and bare feet between shin and thigh does the trick.

Why do people find it uncomfortable? Genuine question - I'm sure we HAD to do it as little kids when I was a child back in the Dark Ages.

I think as kids, we'd sit cross legged but you could slouch, or hug your knees to your chest, and generally just wriggle around. It's the sitting up straight bit whilst cross legged that I find hard. And I don't have a great natural range of hip rotation (just my anatomy sadly), sitting on a very large folded towel helps a bit but doesn't help with the general ants in the pants issue. I get muscle ache in my upper back after a while, too used to having a back rest!

All done! xxx

This is possibly just for me, mine all mine.

I'm all signed up for Adriene's 30 Days of Yoga: 'Move'. There's already a thread that's survived two previous incarnations (I believe I started that, too, back end 2019) I expect most Fetchies will post on there, or perhaps on the 'The Yoga Every (well, some) Days Thread'. Or somewhere else entirely. Or not at all.

HOWEVER
I reserve the right not to bother with Adriene's Day 30 if it takes its usu...
