A steady 6 this morning.
Yes Steve, life stuff gets in the way of marathon training. I've not heard of 10 day training cycles before.

Sorry for not letting you all know how I got on at the weekend, I ended up with 3.5 miles. It was fine but a little niggle climbing the hill - which I managed to run all off - it did ease off on the way back down.
It's been a busy few days, visiting and my nephews birthday at the weekend and 2 days of work. Also had to clear the kitchen at the weekend as I am now getting a new one in. I am going to be knackered by the end of the week.
Well done on your 10 miler Turkhish. Good running everyone

We had a new kitchen fitted when our first child was very small, not practical at all making babies bottles over / in the bath.
Well done Lesley let's hope it's the last of the niggle now.

I'm glad he's past the bottle stage. He's extremely fussy with food so this will be interesting with no job and no oven to cook his favourites.

Last year we used a microwave and a single ring camping gas stove but we had no children to worry about then thank heavens.

just had a read back I swear I thought I'd been putting some updates on but seems I've only just been thinking of them.
apologies if I miss anyone my memory is not so great but here goes
Lesley great to see you getting the miles up a little bit more, hope you continue to go from strength to strength. The hassle of packing up for the kitchen will be so worth it
hs, you seem to be over your fall and doing great good luck for your race.
Turkish glad the manflu has left, hope your race went well
Loo you have been doing loads and hope the fun run went well, always nice to join in with club events. I was supposed to marshall for our club run tomorrow, but was supposed to be in Wales but EasyJet have cancelled our flight which I'm secretly relieved about as I was stressing I'd get stuck in Bristol on Thursday. And a 29min parkrun wow!!
FF when do you head off to Norway? Have you got packed yet? Wishing you a fabulous run, one to add to my wish list, anyway enjoy it and look forward to the blog!
The dark hours on Saturday is a bit concerning for me as it will be on a B road but one that tends to attract some crazy driving then a dodgy part of town in early hours... but I'm focusing on the finish line and just hope to make it in one piece. Still very excited about it all. Bags are pretty much there, some random requests for plasters in first aid kit needed so I'll do a trip to town and pop to the chemist on Friday. There has been some cracking chats on the FB group so I hope to meet some of them over the day.
I did do a 'race' on Thursday, one of the North East's iconic's - The Blaydon Race, but with a little niggle in my left foot (coming from tight shin) and this weekends adventure looming my friend who hasnt ran much we opted to just enjoyed the experience, high fived the kids along the route and chatted our way round. Made for a pleasurable run esp as it was on the warm side.

Lots going on for you Lesley and great that you did the run with only a minor niggle. You might find the dark hours quieter than you imagine gg. It's also the shortest hours of darkness period of the year...the sun will be up early, getting light at 4.30am!
FF and gg's exciting events are so close now. Yet another four miles and a bit along trails this morning. The sun and warm seem to be only lasting here til Friday and the bone dry trails get quickly waterlogged again!

It is breaking light a bit earlier up north it was really light at 4am this morning. If we have a nice day (as currently forecast) should stay fairly light until well after 10 too so definitely not too long. I’ve done 2 night marathons, I run in the dark all winter so I don’t know why I’m even thinking about it. Ultranoia maybe.
we’ll done on another 4! You’re flying this month Steve.
